About Healthcare & Medical

As expressed by the phrase “from the cradle to the grave”, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) is the ministry that stands closest to the Japanese people. The universal healthcare system is constantly reformed, and MHLW and its 32.000 officials typically submit the greatest amount of bills to parliament. The Japanese health care system strives to achieve a society where everyone, including the elderly and people with intractable diseases and disabilities can live long, happy lives in an active manner.
