Soft Drinks

 Latest update: July 2023

The Japanese soft drink industry appears to have decreased as a consequence of the covid pandemic. In fact, in 2019, the output decreased for the first time in five years. Nevertheless, the specific market drivers of the consumers are still the same. In Japan the buyers are very health-conscious, therefore they try to drink beverages with low or zero sugar addition. Japanese consumers, at the same time, are concerned with the environmental impact of their purchases. Great attention has been put in the last few years on PET bottles, thanks to their nature of recyclable recipients.
